Klais Organ of Szikszó (Hungary) from Frankfurt v.2
Szikszo is a small town in Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen county, Northern Hungary, 15 kilometres (9 miles) from county capital Miskolc. The population is 5,988 people

The population is 5,988 people. Szikszo one of the poorest town in the poorest counties in a poor country. The unemployment rate is high and people struggling with problems of living.

The Catholic parish church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1780. 1852 burned down and was rebuilt in 1860. The church was totally destroyed, so in 2004 a new church was built. Only the old tower remained.
The new church was given a tremendous gift to the parish Liebfrauenkirche Frankfurt, a Klais organ. The gift of organ arrived in 2007 and been installed Zoltan Koppany organ builder

I asked for information on the history of the Klais organ. Gesa Graumann who associate of the Klais factory wrote to me this:
"The Klais Organ opus 1093: Frankfurt, Liebfrauen. This organ was built immediately after the rebuilt of the church back in 1955. It had 41 stops on three manuals and pedals. The façade had no visible case, but (at least we think) it was one of the finest caseless facades ever built in Germany. We had been in charge for the maintenance from 1955 until 2008.Of course, the instrument was a child of its time and rather straight forward and ‘in-romantic’ in sound. The swell division was by far not the biggest in the organ and definitely not symphonic. Instruments from this post-war period are not yet old enough to be considered historic. Consequently authorities never officially thought about a restoration or sympathetic augmentation. As far as we know no serious trial was made to sell the instrument, and we assume that it went to the dumpster back in 2008."

Fortunately the organ was not in the trash, but also to serve the glory of God as one of the best organ in Eastern Hungary. :)The organ was rebuilt on videos:1  2  3  4   6

I made this sample set in 2016 and proved to be one of my most successful samples. But in the past three years, my sample-making technique has improved a lot. I thought that there was much more to this organ than I could show to me. That's why I processed the original raw sound sample again. The result can be seen here.

The following friends helped me to make and publish the sample set (in alphabetical order)Dominique Dantand, Gérard Lefranc, Jean-Pierre Silvestre and Adrian Wheal. If something's done well, it's thanks to them.  Thank you for their work.

Sample quality
The sample sets are available in wave format 48kHz/24bit, stereo, multiple loops (1-12) and multiple releases (2 levels). Equal, a=440 Hz

The sample sets made in several forms.

  1. Semidry version (stereo recording two meters in front of the organ)
  2. Wet version (stereo recording space of the church)
  3. Surround version (2 pairs of stereo recording up close (near) and at a distance (far)
In the surround version you can change freely the ratio of sound volumen of near and far recording.
I've also created an extended version for each version
Hauptwerk v4.2 and Hauptwerk v5 supported for the Organ Definition Files.
Keyboards, Pedal
The original organ compass of the manuals are 58 keys (the virtual 61 keys), the compass of the pedal is 30 (virtual 32) keys

The Trial Versions of the Klais of Szikszo (from Frankfurt) v2 has a limited compass of C2-C3 (048-c to 060-c) in the pedal, C2-G5 (048-c to 079-g) in the manuals. All other functions work. I suggest you try the demo version before you buy.

Surround vs Stereo mode
If you do not have a surround sound system, but there is enough memory (RAM), I suggest you also install the surround version. If you activate the front and rear stops too, then you will get a more compact and fuller sound than the simple stereo.

I made a five manual composite from the Ziegler sample and Klais sample set.

Here is information on how to use it.

Payment is made through Paypal, which is very secure and allows payment without a paypal account, using a credit card. You have to choose whether you want to transfer in euros or dollars.
