After the political changes the heavy industry is ruined and the city suffers from many problems. The iron factory had to close as well.
The paris church of iron factory was built in 1908 from the donation of the workers of the factory. The church was built in neo-Romanesque style. The Angster organ (II/22) was destroyed in the Second World War. After a long time there was no organ, just a harmonium. In 1998, the parish operated a religious order, the "Little Brothers of St. Francis".
The Walcker-Organ Opus 3980 built in 1960 to Kath. Church of Bad Ems. This is a great neo-baroque organ with III/38 stops. The Bad Ems parish church donated these organ to the church of the Iron Factory in 1995. Unfortunately, there was no money inthe professionally set up and commissioned of the organ. Some of the important stops disappeared, others are not well tuned. But superb acoustics still sounds very much this monumental instrument.
I did the recording and sample making in 2015. At the time, I still had little knowledge of sample making and there was a lot of criticism, mainly for tuning the sample. I’ve learned a lot lately and I’m slowly taking out my old samples and making the new version by reprocessing the raw recording audio files. Now this great organ has taken place. Thanks to the finer noise filtering method, the sound of the reprocessed sample is fuller and more vibrant. Another significant change is that the new release does not use a 2-channel stereo mix, but all six channels using surround. To my delight, Gérarad Lefranc, Dominique Dantand, István Nagy, Andor Pecze and Jean-Pierre Silvestre were in the preparation of the new version. Thank you for their work.
Part of the truth is that this new version has gotten better than the previous one, but it’s not perfect either. For me, my recording technique has changed a lot since then, I have much better microphones, so the quality of my current samples is better than that of the refurbished samples. You need to know this and take this into account when shopping.
The sample was prepared in 2-channel stereo front-near, 2-channel stereo front-far, and 6-channel (near-far-rear) surround versions.
The reverb is 3.5 s, reflects he original acoustics of the church.
Hauptwerk v4.2 or v5-9 supported for the Organ Definition Files.
