Ujpest formerly an independant city, is now the fourth district of Budapest since her annexation in 1950. The current population of this traditional worker's district is 116.000. 

Ujpest has two Catholic parishes. St. Stephen's parish is located in the garden-town of Ujpest.

The construction of the neo-romanesque church began in 1942. After being interrupted by the war, it was completed in 1947 thanks to the community's engagement.


After the first harmonium an electric organ was used for the liturgical ceremonies. Built in 2006, the mechanical two-manual organ is a typical product of the Organ Manufacturing Company of Pécs.  The coffered ceiling of this medium size modern church makes its acoustics quite dry. Nevertheless, this modern baroque organ sounds quite nicely

Sample quality 
The sample sets are available in wave format 48kHz/24bit, stereo, multiple loops (1-12) and multiple releases (2 levels). Equal, a=440 Hz

The sample sets are made in two forms.

a. A version of stereo mix (mixing of 6 channels recording). 
b. A Surround version (3 pairs of stereo recording: close (near); at distance (far) and in the background (rear).
In the surround version you can change freely the ratio of sound volumen of near and far and rear recording.

(Suitable blocking channels can be used for wet or semidry stereo modes too). 

The sample set reverb is 2.5 s reflecting the original  acoustics of the church.

Keyboards, Pedal 
The original organ compass of the manuals are 58 keys (the virtual version 61), the compass of the pedal is 30 (the virtual 32) keys.

The Trial Versions of the POM Ujpest has a limited compass of C2-C3 (048-c to 060-c) in the pedal, C2-G5 (048-c to 079-g) in the manuals. All other functions work. 

Content: stereo-mix version (1.12 GB), Surround version part01 (1.14 GB), part02 (1.27 GB)
Install the part01 and then the part02 of surround version. It is important to sort.

You can use the stereo mix and surround versions separately, they don't interfere with each other.

Surround vs Stereo mode

If you do not have a surround sound system, but there is enough memory (RAM), I suggest you also install the surround version. If you activate the front and rear stops too, then you will get a more compact and fuller sound than the simple stereo.
