Rieger Organ of Francisus church of Esztergom
The construction of the neo-romanesque church began in 1942. After being interrupted by the war, it was completed in 1947 thanks to the community's engagement.
The cathedral of Esztergom is the largest church in Hungary.
The first Franciscan church of Esztergom was built in 1200, but it was destroyed in the invasion of the Mongols. The current church and a Franciscan monastery was built between 1710-1755. It is the oldest baroque buildings of Esztergom.
The original organ of the church was built in the 1720s, the builder is unknown. This organ was expanded by Jan Pažický in 1778. The organ was sold to Pusztaszabolcs parish in 1941. This organ was recently renovated and is now Hungary's most beautiful small two-manual baroque organ. This sample set is available in the offer of Inspired Acoustics.
The new three-manual 30-stops organ built by the Rieger-Budapest organ factory in 1941. The organ was designed by Joseph Geyer, who was the most famous organ specialist at the time. The Geyer's disposition combines characteristics of the baroque and romantic age, so the organ suitable playing the organ works of each style. The Franciscans had never the money to renovate the organ. Thus, the state organ is not the best, but it has retained its original status.
The sample sets are made in two forms.
a. The version of stereo mix (mixing of 6 channels recording).
b. Surround version (3 pairs of stereo recording up close (near) and at a distance (far) and in the background (rear).
In the surround version you can change freely the ratio of sound volumen of near and far and rear recording.
(Suitable blocking channels can be used for wet or semidry stereo modes too).
The sample set reverb is 3 s reflecting the original acoustics of the church.

You can use the stereo mix and surround versions separately, they don't interfere with each other.
Instruction of the surtround version: install the part01 and then the part02 of surround version. It is important to sort.
Surround vs Stereo mode
If you do not have a surround sound system, but there is enough memory (RAM), I suggest you also install the surround version. If you activate the front and rear stops too, then you will get a more compact and fuller sound than the simple stereo.
